The Clayton Brake Washer product line is designed to be a portable method to safely clean hazardous dust from all types of brakes, it was specifically designed for wetting and cleaning vehicle brakes during inspection or repair.

How the Clayton Brake Washer Works

All of the Clayton brake washers use and industrial air powered re-circulating pump to flow our TNT solvent cleaner over and through brake pads, calipers, rotors and drums. It is the OSHA preferred method for cleaning and wetting brakes during inspection.

The contaminated solution is caught in what’s called the Washer Basin and flows through one or more pre-filters and filters where dust and other contaminants are caught before the TNT solution returns to the primary reservoir for recirculation. All of the Clayton Brake Washes use 1 micron primary filters to tap and contain brake dust and other contaminants.

The Polyethylene basin, drum, and dolly will not rust, chip or dent.

Clayton TNT Solution

The Clayton TNT cleaning solution is a formula made up of organic, biodegradable cleaners and rust inhibitors that will quickly loosen and will remove any brake dust, dried oil, grease, dirt and other foreign substance off the brakes. The TNT cleaner is a concentrated substance - 1 liter of TNT non-toxic, non-flammable solution will make 15 gallons of brake cleaning solution that lasts for months due to it recirculating.

To keep the TNT solution clean and effective for as long as possible the Clayton Brake washes use a variety of pre-filters and filters. Drum style Brake Washes used a sock filter while bench top and truck styles use a flat filter of the same 1 micron media.

In addition to flow through filtration, we also use our Oil Magnet absorptive skimmer to collect and retain any oils, solvents, and coolants from the filtered TNT solution that may have been present on the brakes.

Disposal System

In most areas around the world, the TNT solution can be disposed of in the sanitary sewer. The filters can be disposed of as ordinary shop waste. It is recommended that you consult your local authorities for information regarding the disposal of these items for your area.
